Recognizing the Philippines’ vulnerability to earthquakes, Empire East carried out an earthquake preparedness drill at The Paddington Place to strengthen employee readiness and awareness. The activity aimed to train staff on proper safety procedures and ensure that everyone is equipped to respond effectively in the event of an earthquake.

Evacuation maps were displayed on the walls of each department to guide employees on where to go and what to do in case of an emergency. An emergency alarm was played through the intercoms to indicate that the earthquake drill had begun. During the drill, designated safety officers per department led employees through fire exits and designated evacuation routes, emphasizing the importance of calm coordination and clear communication to avoid confusion and ensure safety.

To ensure everyone’s protection, the floor captains instructed employees to DUCK, COVER, and HOLD until it was declared safe to evacuate. Once the area was cleared, the safety officers once again guided employees back to their workstations. Drills like these serve as powerful reminders that safety begins with awareness. Every action—from knowing the nearest exit to staying calm under pressure—can make a real difference in protecting lives. It’s a small effort that builds a stronger, more caring community within and beyond the workplace.

In line with its commitment to safety, Empire East extended the same care and preparedness to its residential developments, especially for homeowners, by conducting an earthquake drill for residents and building staff. Designated safety officers guided the residents throughout the drill, providing clear orientations on the proper procedure and precautions to take in the event of a natural disaster, such as an earthquake. In addition to Empire East’s ongoing safety initiatives, residents engaged in a fire preparedness drill. Safety marshals provided orientations on emergency procedures and evacuation protocols, guiding both staff and homeowners to ensure readiness in the event of a fire emergency.

As part of a wider movement toward disaster adaptivity, this measure highlights Empire East’s commitment to fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience, emphasizing how these have become a shared value across workplaces and communities. The company’s upheld values extend beyond its offices and employees, reflecting Empire East’s strong commitment to its homebuyers who remain its top priority. This culture of preparedness and stability is reflected in the way every Empire East development is designed, constructed, and managed. In a nation celebrated for its enduring resilience, initiatives like this show that true strength comes from preparedness, solidarity, and care for one another. Empire East takes pride in contributing to this shared movement toward safer, more stable communities for its homebuyers and residents.

Key takeaway:

Empire East continues to provide homebuyers and residents with peace of mind, knowing that their homes are built with care, quality, and security in mind. From one office to an entire community, the company upholds a shared culture of preparedness and strength that protects and empowers every family.
