January 30, 2026, Mandaluyong City—Reinforcing its commitment to workplace safety and preparedness, the Bureau of Fire Protection conducted a fire safety seminar and drill at the Empire East Corporate Office in coordination with the company’s Emergency Response Unit.

The seminar aimed to equip employees with essential knowledge on fire prevention and proper emergency response. Led by the Bureau of Fire Protection, the session covered common causes of fire incidents, as well as the important do’s and don’ts during a fire. Designated Fire Marshals and Floor Captains from each department were in attendance, reflecting Empire East’s structured and proactive approach to emergency preparedness.

Following the seminar, a fire drill was carried out in an organized and orderly manner. With assigned safety leaders on every floor, employees were guided clearly through the evacuation process. Upon the sounding of the alarm, Fire Marshals and Floor Captains led their respective teams in a single line toward the designated evacuation area. Equipped with emergency go bags and hard hats, employees were able to practice proper safety procedures and experience firsthand how to respond in the event of a real emergency. A short debriefing was also conducted to review the flow of the drill and reinforce key learnings.

To further strengthen hands-on learning, volunteers participated in a fire extinguisher training. Under strict safety precautions, BFP officers ignited a controlled fire, allowing participants to practice extinguishing it with proper guidance. The exercise helped build confidence and ensured employees understood the correct way to operate a fire extinguisher.

Through initiatives like these, Empire East continues to foster a culture of safety and preparedness. By equipping employees with the right knowledge and practical experience, the company underscores that safety is a shared responsibility—one that extends beyond the workplace and into the homes and communities it serves.
