As part of its continuing environment efforts, property developer Empire East recently held a tree planting activity at Empire East Highland City along Felix Avenue in Cainta, in preparation for the future development of the Highland Forest within the township.

The activity reflects the company’s direction toward integrating greener open spaces into its developments while encouraging environmental responsibility within the community. The planned Highland Forest is envisioned as a future green space that will contribute to the township’s overall landscape and long-term environmental goals.

Present during the activity were President and CEO Anthony Charlemagne C. Yu, Project Architect Jaycob Lingat, and representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Mr. Jerande Requino and Mr. Jovert Carabot.

The 1.3-ha forest will feature a variety of native and fruit-bearing tree species selected to help support biodiversity and contribute to the future green landscape of the township. Trees planted during the activity included Banaba, Malaruhat, Kalantas, Lawaan, Tuway, Duhat, Rambutan, Lipote, and Molave.

According to Yu, the initiative reflects Empire East’s ongoing commitment to responsible development. “Empire East Highland City reflects our long-term vision of creating greener and more sustainable communities,” he shares.

Project Architect Jaycob Lingat also emphasized the importance of designing developments that consider both people and the environment. He says “Highland Forest is envisioned as a thoughtfully planned green space where development and nature coexist. This initiative represents an important step toward shaping a landscape that supports both environmental balance and community well-being.”

The activity forms part of Empire East’s broader efforts under its “Shaping Tomorrow’s Communities” direction, which highlights sustainability, community-building, and future-ready developments.
