Take a day trip to San Juan City and uplift your spirit through these unique finds!

There will always be days when we feel the need to pause from our current daily routines to reconnect with the past and check up on our soul. As you know, if the flow of today’s life is too much to handle, all we need to do is take a leisurely stroll preferably along colorful places in Metro Manila that will remind us of how time has passed and how things have changed – yet, we are still here fighting and kicking our troubles away.

And where else could we satisfy this longing than along the smallest, yet the most historic city of San Juan in Metro Manila. To give you an idea, the total land area of San Juan is roughly about 595 hectares. But despite being the smallest city, it is known to house a unique stretch of community hubs that even non-residents get attracted to.

With a background story of being the site of the first battle of Katipunan against the Spanish Empire, it is not a surprise that the city sought to preserve its adventures through art cafes, restaurants, and museums.

Some of the old and new places that could help you uplift your soul are the following:

1. Museo ng Katipunan (Katipunan Museum)

29 Pinaglabanan, Corazon de Jesus Pinaglabanan, San Juan City

If you want to have a trip to the past, Katipunan Museum is a perfect place to go!

This museum commemorates the bravery of KKK (Kataastaasan, Kagalanggalang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan). It exhibits the life of significant people like Andres Bonifacio, Emilio Jacinto and Gregoria de Jesus. They also have a display of the things that are said to be used by the Katipuneros during that time. Museo ng Katipunan provides an educational approach to understand the Katipunan in a fun and easy way.

The Katipunan or KKK fought for our freedom against the Spaniards during the Spanish Era.

You can visit Museo ng Katipunan every Tuesdays to Sundays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This Museum is free for everyone!
