For the second consecutive year, Empire East Land Holdings, Inc. has earned a Golden Arrow Award from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), reaffirming its commitment to responsible corporate governance. But for the company's Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Lino P. Victorioso, Jr., the recognition represents more than an achievement worth celebrating. It is an opportunity to set even higher standards for the years ahead.
Empire East received 1 Golden Arrow during the 2026 Golden Arrow Awards held on October 23, 2026, at Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Mr. Victorioso, who also serves as the company's Chief Information Officer, personally received the award on behalf of Empire East.
The recognition marks Empire East's second consecutive year of earning 1 Golden Arrow, reflecting its continuing efforts to uphold transparency, accountability, and sound corporate governance practices.
A Commitment to Raising the Bar
For Mr. Victorioso, the recognition presents an opportunity to build on the company's accomplishments and pursue further improvements in governance.
Having previously served as the company's Chief Financial Officer and continuing in his capacity as Chief Information Officer, Mr. Victorioso brings experience in financial management, information systems, and organizational oversight to his leadership responsibilities.
With the guidance of Empire East President and CEO Atty. Anthony Charlemagne C. Yu, Mr. Victorioso aims to further strengthen governance practices across the organization, building on the company's achievements while pursuing higher Golden Arrow distinctions in the coming years.
"Good corporate governance is not just about meeting assessment requirements. It should be reflected in how we make decisions, how we work together, and how we fulfill our responsibilities to our stakeholders. As we strengthen these practices across the organization, we also strengthen the foundations for Empire East's future growth," Mr. Victorioso said.
For the COO, this means fostering a culture where accountability, transparency, and responsible decision-making are consistently practiced across departments and business functions.
"Our goal is not simply to sustain this recognition, but to continuously raise our standards and work toward earning more Golden Arrows in the years ahead," he added.
Recognizing Good Corporate Governance
Organized by the Institute of Corporate Directors, the Golden Arrow Awards honor Philippine publicly listed companies that demonstrate commendable corporate governance practices based on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS).
The assessment evaluates companies across several key areas, including shareholder rights, sustainability and resilience, stakeholder relationships, disclosure and transparency, and the responsibilities of the board of directors.
Through this regional benchmarking framework, the awards encourage publicly listed companies to continuously improve their governance practices in line with internationally recognized standards.
Empire East joins other recognized Philippine corporations, including Alliance Global and Megaworld Corporation, in demonstrating the importance of good corporate governance in sustaining business growth and stakeholder confidence.
Moving Forward with Stronger Foundations
For more than three decades, Empire East has pursued its commitment to making homeownership more accessible to Filipino families through its residential developments and master-planned communities.
As the company continues to develop new communities and advance its existing projects, strengthening its corporate governance practices remains an important part of sustaining its long-term growth.
Under Mr. Victorioso's operational leadership, the company aims to reinforce the systems, processes, and organizational practices that support greater efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
The Golden Arrow recognition comes as Empire East celebrates its 32nd anniversary under the theme "Moving Lives Forward." Beyond developing homes and communities, the company continues to recognize the importance of building an organization capable of creating lasting value for its shareholders, homebuyers, employees, and business partners.
With two consecutive Golden Arrow recognitions to its name, Empire East looks ahead with a renewed ambition: to build on its progress, pursue higher standards, and strive for even greater corporate governance achievements in the years to come.
